Leaning on Leamington Legs : FBG's #3

Well, it's been well over a month since my last FBG's blog. But never fear, we have been walking in our droves ( and so much more!) Many hearts have been shared and inches shed, muscle has massed and some have been missed as issues of life -illnesses and family commitments have intervened for a time. 2C : Strut Your Stuff Resilience and Perseverance are the two words that resonate with us during this wild  winter weather. And yes, you may not know it right now but we have broken through to Spring. The cherry blossoms, port-wine magnolias, lambs and daffodils are beacons of better things to come, lights at the end of tunnels. We have well and truly crossed the bridge,        through both the high(s) and low(s), and now have a very identifiable purplicious presence on the streets. Throughout history, butterflies have continually fascinated humankind with their mysterious metamorphic processes and incredible beauty. As a child, I was often nicknamed ‘Monarch Butterfly’ Perhaps because it was hard to match a rhyme with Monique, apart from 'Unique' of course. I have always carried, in my heart, a fascination for these amazing creatures. My own mother engendered a love of all things nature, beginning with shell collecting on Great Barrier Island from a very young age.She decorated the most beautiful coffee tables, mirrors and other shell-mosaiced furnishings. Mum's beautiful shell mirror made with love from the treasures at Great Barrier Island and gifted me on my own first Mother's day. We holidayed there until I was 7 years old, until my father sold the bach at Awana Bay, purchasing and designing a 21 acre bush/ horticultural block near Muriwai, West Auckland.
